Have you dreamt of exchanging vows in an exotic and tranquil tropical paradise? Imagine a breathtaking open-air ceremony performed amid the lush landscape of our 60-acre resort or on one of our breezy covered verandas, all of which offer spectacular vistas of the Volcan Masaya National Park, Masaya lagoon, and the majestic Volcan Santiago as a backdrop. A myriad of options are available to personalize your memorable event: Are you planning your celebration to include a large reception? Picture a lovely daytime ceremony, awash in sunlight on our beautiful grounds, followed by a cocktail hour and subsequently, a wedding luncheon. Or, perhaps you envision a wedding luncheon only. Entertainment and/or dancing could be included following the luncheon. For a large reception, the festivities would end at sunset. As Hacienda Puerta del Cielo Resort can accommodate up to 18 overnight guests, the wedding party, (or perhaps only the Bride and Groom), could remain as overnight guests at the resort. Other celebrations such as the rehearsal dinner and/or the after-wedding brunch can be arranged as well. For an intimate wedding reception of 18 or less, Hacienda Puerta del Cielo Resort offers the flexibility of providing a romantic sunset wedding ceremony with a starlit evening reception. The Bride, Groom and 14 guests could remain as overnight guests at the resort. Of course, revitalizing spa packages and/or exciting tour packages can be added to your festivities. Just remember to leave some time for rest, relaxation and romance! HONEYMOON IN NICARAGUA

  • Accommodation for two persons in “Casa Linda,” Hacienda Puerta del Cielo’s only Honeymoon Suite. Casa Linda is our most luxurious cabana, with a private indoor Jacuzzi, indoor & outdoor showers, private patio, private deck with hammock, and direct access to our “lazy river” tropical pool.
  • Round-trip transfers for two persons from Managua International Airport to Hacienda Puerta del Cielo. (Add US$10.00 dollars each way for after-hours travel occurring between 7 PM & 7 AM).
  • Welcome bottle of Sparkling Wine.
  • Romantic dinner for two at 7 PM each night while Guests are at our Hacienda. (Dinner is not available after 8 PM nor can it be provided at other locations).
  • One “Signature Cocktail” from the Hacienda’s Bar, per person, on each night of your stay. This includes Flor de Caña Rum, Chilean Wine and Toña or Victoria Beer.
  • Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 9 AM and Lunch is served at 12 noon on the Hacienda’s dining terrace while Guests are on the property. (Meals are not available outside of set mealtimes and cannot be provided if Guests are away from the Hacienda during mealtimes.)
  • One hour-long individual massage at the Hacienda for each person, (please note that we have (1) one in-house masseuse, so “couples massages” are not available).
  • Guided Tour of the Spanish Colonial City of Granada for two persons, provided by Hacienda Staff. (See Granada Tour description.)

Green Season Special

6 days/5 nights

The “Green Season” in Nicaragua runs from mid-May through mid-November. It is when the Nicaraguan landscape is most lush and verdant. During the Green Season, rainfall usually occurs in the early morning hours and in short bursts in the afternoon. The daily rains refresh the air and maintain ideal temperatures at the Hacienda. Rainfall does not interfere with daytime tours.

Visit Granada, the oldest colonial city on the American Continent. There you can climb the 72 winding steps to the top of a historic church bell tower for a bird’s eye view of the colonial city, visit Doña Elba’s Cigars for custom cigars rolled to order, visit the ChocoMuseo to sample their hand-made treats. You’ll have a chance to step back-in-time with a stroll on the cobblestone streets surrounding the Historic Spanish Colonial Central Plaza. This tour will also take you on a tranquil boat ride through a group of tiny islands called, “Las Isletas.” Relax on this rustic boat tour as you take in the abundant beauty of Nicaragua’s tropical flora and fauna.

Ride to the summit of active Volcán Masaya! There you will walk a few yards to the rim of the rumbling Santiago Crater and witness the red molten lava churning in the center of the crater. Afterwards, you will visit Masaya’s Artisans’ Market where you can explore the many colorful vendor stalls, each showcasing the beautifully rustic and exotic art and craft-works handmade by local Artisans.

Sample itinerary below (this will be modified to accommodate your tours with already booked tours)


  • Saturday: Daytime pick-up at Managua Int’l Airport (MGA) & transfer to Hacienda Puerta del Cielo Ecolodge. Enjoy a refreshing welcome cocktail upon arrival, a complimentary appetizer at 5:00 PM, and be our guest for a delicious alfresco dinner served at 7:00 PM on our dining terrace. (Please note that evening flights will not arrive in time for the complimentary dinner service.)
  • Sunday: Awake to the sounds of the birds in the jungle below your Private Deck and enjoy a volcano view breakfast from 7:30 to 9:00 AM. Immediately after breakfast, we will head to Laguna Apoyo where you can swim & kayak in the warm, medicinal waters of a dormant volcanic crater! Lunch & drinks can be purchased lakeside (not included). You will return to the Hacienda about 2 PM, to rest a bit before joining us for free appetizers at 5:00 PM. Your complimentary dinner will be served at 7:00 PM.
  • Monday:  Up early for a 7:30 AM breakfast, as tour departs at 8:30 AM to visit Granada, Latin America’s colonial jewel & the oldest European settlement on the American Continent. Next, you’ll enjoy a leisurely boat tour of a group of tiny islands, (Las Isletas). Here, you can sit back & admire the beautiful flora & fauna of lake Nicaragua, the 10th largest lake fresh water lake in the world! Return to Hacienda Puerta del Cielo about 3:00 PM to unwind before free appetizers at 5:00 PM. Your complimentary dinner is served at 7:00 PM.
  • Tuesday:  A day to chill by the pool, sunbathe or snooze in a breezy hammock at Hacienda Puerta del Cielo! Enjoy your soothing spa services, (2 individual massages are included with package). At 7:00 PM, we will provide a complimentary Nicaraguan feast, featuring authentic national dishes!
  • Wednesday:  After breakfast, depart at 9:00 AM for Catarina, a picturesque hilltop town with spectacular views. Followed by a visit to the rustic village of San Juan de Oriente, known for its world-class ceramics. Local potters provide a hands-on demonstration, afterward roam the tiny shops in search of the perfect souvenir. Return to the Hacienda about 2:00 PM to put your feet up before free appetizers at 5:00 PM. Your complimentary dinner is served at 7:00 PM.
  • Thursday: departs at 8:30 AM/returns at 3:00 PM. First stop, Volcan Masaya National Park, where we will visit the Vulcanology Museum before ascending the summit to peer into the “Mouth of Hell!” Next, we will stop for lunch en route to the capital of Masaya, (please note that food and refreshments while on tour are not included in the price of package.) After lunch we head to Nicaragua’s cradle of culture, Masaya, where we will visit the Old Artisans’ Market. Here you will find a treasure trove of native handicrafts – great gift and souvenir opportunities!  Return to the Hacienda about 3:30 PM.
  • Friday: Enjoy your last alfresco meal with us from 7:30 to 9:00 AM and check-out of your beautiful Private Casita. We will bid you a fond farewell and deliver you to Managua Int’l Airport for your return flight home.
